This policy explains what personal data Linguacorpus collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. It covers two distinct things: data we collect from people who use this website, and data contained in the training datasets we source and deliver. They are handled differently, and both are described below.

Who we are

Linguacorpus is an AI training data sourcing business. For questions about this policy or about personal data we hold, contact hello@linguacorpus.com. Registered business details, including the legal entity name and address, are available on request and are stated in any contract we enter into.

Data we collect from website visitors

When you submit the request form on this site, we collect the information you enter: your email address, company name, the language or category you are asking about, approximate volume, and any message you write. We also receive the technical information your browser sends with any web request, such as IP address and user agent, in our server logs.

This site does not use advertising cookies, does not run third-party analytics that profile you across other websites, and does not sell or share visitor data with data brokers. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than from a third-party font service, so no request is made to an external provider when you load a page.

Why we process it

We use the information you submit to respond to your enquiry and to prepare a quote. Our lawful basis for this is your consent, given when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries. Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available.

How long we keep it

Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting project, and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can respond to follow-up questions. You can ask us to delete your enquiry record at any time.

Speaker data in datasets we deliver

The datasets we source contain recordings of real people, and those recordings are personal data. They are collected under separate, specific consent rather than under this website policy, and that consent is documented and delivered with the dataset.

Because a voice recording can be linked to the person who made it, and because a voice can be used to identify someone, voice data is treated as a sensitive category. Our consent process requires that speakers are told concretely what the recording will be used for, who it may be shared with, how long it will be retained, and how they can withdraw.

Where recordings involve children, guardian consent is required and the permitted use is stated explicitly. We do not produce children's voice data without it.

Where data subjects are located in the European Economic Area and the data is processed outside it, a lawful transfer mechanism is put in place and stated in the agreement. Details of the mechanism are available to buyers on request.

What we decline

We do not source recorded telephone calls, because the consent of the other party is typically absent and cannot be retrofitted. We do not handle medical or clinical data. We do not accept projects where the provenance of the source data cannot be documented.

Sharing

We share personal data with producers and annotation teams only to the extent needed to fulfil a project, and under terms that restrict them to that purpose. We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information where we are legally required to do so.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how it is processed, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, email hello@linguacorpus.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. If you are a speaker whose recording is part of a dataset we delivered, include the project or dataset name if you know it, and we will trace your record.

Security

We restrict access to personal data to people who need it to do their work, and we require producers working on our projects to do the same. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected individuals and regulators as required if a breach occurs.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
